“봄날 (Spring Day)” is the title single from BTS’s repackage album “You Never Walk Alone.” Released in February 2017, the song is a midtempo track blending alternative hip-hop and pop-rock ballad elements with Brit rock influences.

The lyrics of “Spring Day” convey a positive outlook on a friend’s absence, using a seasonal metaphor to express the belief that things will improve in the future. Praised for its poignant lyricism, the song resonates with longing and nostalgia, making it one of BTS’s most acclaimed tracks.

The music video for “Spring Day” broke records for the most-watched music video by any K-pop group within 24 hours of its release, surpassing 11.8 million views. Internationally, “Spring Day” reached number one on major music charts in 14 countries and entered Spotify’s Viral 50 in 12 countries, including the US. It debuted at No. 15 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, marking the first time a K-pop group achieved a top 10 position on iTunes US.

The song received numerous accolades, including Song of the Year at the Melon Music Awards and a Digital Bongsang at the Golden Disc Awards. The music video also earned recognition, winning Music Video of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.

Additionally, the “Spring Day” music video hinted at a tribute to the Sewol Ferry tragedy, adding another layer of emotional depth to the song’s themes.
